Fight between neighbors escalates, one arrested

LINCOLN, Neb. – A man was arrested by Lincoln Police on Wednesday after a fight between neighbors escalated, and two victims were assaulted by a baseball bat and a golf club.

LPD said on Wednesday around 4:45 p.m., officers responded to the 2800 Block of Q Street on a disturbance.

Officers contacted the victims, a 37-year-old female and a 36-year-old male, who said they had been in a fight with two male neighbors.

The victims told police the argument took place over several issues, including a stolen phone and back rent that was due to one of the victims.

The victims told police that Andrew Love, 35, used a baseball bat to assault the male, while the other suspect hit him in the shins with a golf club.

The female victim also told police that Love hit her in the head with a baseball bat.

The male victim suffered a contusion at the top of his head, injuries to both his shins, and a two-inch puncture mark on his right side, according to LPD.

The female suffered injuries to her hands and face, as well as a gash to her head.

Love was arrested for two counts of 2nd Degree Assault and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
