A fire in Lancaster County caused $160,000 worth of damage and destroyed five vehicles on Monday night.

Just after 8 p.m., a man arrived at his home at 11701 N 40th Street, near Davey, and thought he smelled smoke.

He looked around but couldn’t find anything and proceeded to lay down on the couch. A short time later, his wife saw a glow coming from outside, authorities said.

The couple then discovered their Morton Building was on fire.

The building contained five vehicles, one UTV, and a John Deere mower. The total loss in the Morton Building was $150,000.

$10,000 was caused to the exterior of the home, as well.

Waverly and Ceresco fire crews responded to put out the flames, and the cause is unknown at this time.
