Fire destroys home near Firth

LINCOLN, Neb. — A family is displaced after a fire destroyed its home south of Lincoln on Tuesday night.

Firefighters were called to a house near Gage Road and S. 82nd Street, just south of Firth, at about 5:26 p.m.

When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed by flames.

Four agencies responded to the fire, including Firth, Adams, Cortland and Hickman fire and rescue crews.

Everyone inside the home, including three pet ducks, escaped the home to safety, officials said.

However, the home is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
