GI children exposed to marijuana smoke

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) Police arrested two Grand Island adults after they found a pair of children inside a car filled with marijuana smoke.

Grand Island police arrested Joseph Wetzel, 27, after an officer told them he had violated probation. They also arrested Gabrielle Williams, 24.

The pair were contacted in their car just outside their apartment building in the 2400 block of Kruse street in north Grand Island. The police smelled a strong odor of marijuana and later discovered drugs, drug paraphernalia and two small children in the vehicle.

When police searched the couple's residence they found a large amount of marijuana, THC concentrates known as WAX and Shatter, THC edibles, a marijuana grinder, cash and packing materials.

Wetzel was arrested for possession of drugs with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, drug possession, drug tax stamp violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, probation violation and child abuse.

Williams was arrested for possession of drugs with intent to distribute, drug possession, drug tax stamp violation, evidence tampering possession of drug paraphernalia and child abuse.
