Grand jury finds no criminal conduct in death of man in Dawson County

DAWSON COUNTY, Neb. -- A grand jury has determined that there was no criminal conduct that led to the death of a 61-year-old man in Dawson County last June.

Joseph D. Bauer died in Dawson County on June 18, 2018, following a vehicle pursuit conducted by law enforcement who were attempting to apprehend him.

The grand jury called to investigate his death returned a "No True Bill" ruling on Wednesday after concluding there was no criminal conduct on the part of anybody as to Bauer's death, the Dawson County Attorney's Office said in a news release.

The grand jury has been discharged from further service.
