Identity released of Nebraska man killed in tractor explosion

LINDSAY, Neb. – The Platte County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a Humphrey man who died in a tractor engine explosion Monday morning.

Platte County Sheriff Ed Wemhoff says 30-year-old Jeffrey Jarecki was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on 400th Avenue in Rural Lindsay, after the engine of a tractor he was working on exploded.

The explosion happened at approximately 9:27 a.m. on Monday and both the sheriff’s office and Columbus Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
