LINCOLN, Neb. – A man charged with manslaughter following a car crash that killed an 8-year-old boy in Lincoln has been sentenced to 16-18 years in prison.
Brandon Valentine, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 8-year-old Camden King, was sentenced to 16-18 years in prison in Lancaster District Court on Thursday morning, court records show.
On March 16, Valentine's F150 collided with a Volkswagon Golf, killing King and injuring his father.
According to Lincoln Police, officers found bottles of alcohol in Valentine's car.
Investigators also determined Valentine was driving more than 70 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.
Valentine has been in jail since March 22.
