K-9 Unit finds over $50,000 worth of drugs on I-80 traffic stop

SEWARD, Neb. (KOLN)- Seward County Sheriff's K-9 Unit found over $50,000 worth of drugs during an I-80 traffic stop on Thursday.

The stop occurred when officers observed a Chrysler four-door sedan following too closely at around 11:21 a.m. During a search of the vehicle approximately three pounds of crystal meth, 34 grams of mushrooms and drug paraphernalia were discovered.

The driver, 48-year-old Steven D. Kucharski, and the passenger, 32-year-old Michael J. Pierzykowski, were arrested for possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp.

Both occupants were lodged in Seward County Detention Center.
