Lincoln, Neb. (KOLN) Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to a two-alarm fire in east Lincoln Sunday morning.

They received a call from someone passing through the area of smoke coming from the back side of a townhouse complex near South Street and Devonshire Drive, just before 10:30 a.m.

Battalion Chief Dave Engler says crews arrived to heavy smoke and fire coming from the second-floor of the residence. LFR initiated fire attack and located the blaze in an upstairs bedroom. He says they were able to knock down the fire in a few minutes and it was contained to the bedroom only.

Chief Engler said a family of four who was inside made it out safely, and LFR was also able to rescue a dog. He says the fire did not spread to the other units at the complex.

As far as the damage goes, Engler says there's anywhere between $30,000 to $50,000 dollars in damages. He said the cause was electrical, and no one was injured.
