Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and health officials updated the community on the City’s efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus at a briefing on Friday.

StarTran will begin regular bus service on July 23. Bus fair will remain free for the time being.

According to officials, StarTran will continue social distancing procedures and will encourage the public to wear masks. Plexiglass will be installed at all of the drivers stations in order to minimize infection. Buses will be thoroughly cleaned each day.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department announced that 11 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Lincoln, bringing the community total to 1,670.

The number of deaths in the community remains at 12. The number of individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 is 547.
