LPD: Man swallows baggie during traffic stop

LINCOLN, NE Lincoln Police said a man swallowed a baggie with a white substance in it while being arrested following a traffic stop on Monday.

According to LPD, on Dec. 3rd near NW 4th and W Nance around 2 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle driving with no headlights.

LPD said the vehicle then made a right-hand turn and almost slid into a ditch.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted 31-year-old Martavious Green. Officers discovered Green had an active warrant and was showing signs of impairment.

When the officer went to put Green in the police cruiser, he noticed him put a baggie containing a white substance in his mouth.

He told Green to take it out but he refused and swallowed it.

Green was also found with a red straw that pre-tested positive for amphetamines.

He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence. He was cited and released for DUI, driving under suspension, and providing false info to a police officer.
