LPD: Shooting suspect taken into custody in northwest Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police said that a suspect in connection to an out-of-county shooting was arrested near Air Park Tuesday morning.

The arrest happened early Tuesday morning at a home near NW 55th and W Partridge Ln.

The shooting took place in Fairbury around 9 p.m. on Monday night.

Authorities in Jefferson County said they were called to a shooting and found a 31-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to the Jefferson Community Health and Life and then transported by helicopter to a Lincoln hospital.

Deputies developed a suspect at the scene and learned he was going to Lincoln.

Working with multiple agencies, including LPD, Nebraska State Patrol, and the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, the 17-year-old suspect was arrested.

Authorities said charges are being filed, and when they are finalized the suspect’s name will be released.
