LINCOLN, Neb. – Lincoln Police are investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl on Monday.

LPD said the call came in around 4:30 p.m. to a park in the area of NW 20th and West Q Street.

According to LPD, the 10-year-old victim said a male approached her and pulled her into his arms.

Police said the man briefly let the child go to wave and motion to another 10-year-old in the park.

That is when the first victim was able to sneak away, and the second child was able to run to a neighbor and begin yelling for help.

Two neighbors responded, and one called 911 and began following the suspect.

The suspect then ran from the scene, police said.

LPD was unable to locate a suspect, who is described as a male in his 20’s.
