The Lincoln-Lancaster County Genealogical Society is open to anyone from anywhere in the world and the purpose of the society is to provide education and guidance in genealogical research.
Judi Cook is the Society's Vice-President for programming and education and she is proud of her society's collection at the Union College Library, "This is just the beginning of our collection here at the library, we have over 8,000 resources related to genealogy or family history or community history research."
Cook says the collection is not restricted to just Lincoln and Lancaster County. They have materials from all 50 states and many countries around the world.
Judi invites anyone to go and search the society website at no charge.
And make sure you visit one of their weekly workshops. They take place every Sunday afternoon from 2 until 4 at Walt Public Library on South 14th Street in Lincoln.
