Chad Taylor was 13 years old, growing up in Los Angeles when his parents gave him a book for Christmas. The book was entitled 'Juggling for the Complete Klutz.' At first, young Chad was a little bit offended, but as soon as he found out how good he was at juggling...he never looked back! In fact, he says he couldn't stop juggling, "I got like obsessed and I was just like a juggling addict."
Chad started performing shows on the boardwalk of Venice Beach at the age of 14, "Starting out it was this amazing thing. I was a teenager and we could make a couple hundred bucks a weekend and girls were interested cause you're a star up there and they'd come and talk afterwards."
Eventually, Chad realized that the crowd sizes grew as his juggling got more dangerous, "And the more likely I was to get booked in other venues were I would get paid as opposed to passing the hat."
Chad went from juggling knives, to torches...and eventually stun guns, "These are 100,000 watt stun guns and I'm going to juggle this while I'm balanced up on a 6 foot unicycle with a couple of machetes."
Mad Chad has been juggling chainsaws for more than 20 years now and he has gotten to see the world, "Everytime I do it there's a rush of adrenaline going on for sure, even if I'm not in front of a huge crowd there's a rush of adrenaline, when you hear the sound of those things your instinct is no that's not right, they're very loud with three of them going. I does not get old. That's why I love my job, I feel like any other job I have would get old."
