Lance's Journal: New Roof for Habitat for Humanity, Aug. 27, 2018

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that helps people achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Over the past three decades, Habitat - Lincoln has built or repaired 159 homes in Lancaster County.

And an expensive new roof was just donated to project number 160.

Josh Hanshaw is the executive director for Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln, "We've got a real cool project going on. This area here will have four habitat houses on it."

Josh says he has enjoyed getting to know the family that will soon be living in this house, "We've got Khasro and Ginar, they've been living in the United States for about two years, they've got four kids. He works at Home Depot, she stays at home with the kids, they're an awesome family they love being here. They're extremely excited about Habitat and they're extremely grateful for what habitat's doing for them but also what Westgate Bank and Murray Custom Homes is doing for them as well."

Habitat -Lincoln is building two more houses right next door to the house that just got the new roof and they are looking for generous community members that are willing to step forward with an assist. If you're interested in contributing go to... http://lincolnhabitat.org
