LINCOLN, Neb. – Animal Control has cited a 19-year-old for animal cruelty after a video obtained by 1011 NOW appeared to show him dropping a dog over a tall privacy fence.

According to Lincoln Animal Control, Ernesto Zuniga was seen in the video dropping the small dog over the fence.

After 1011 sent the video to police, Zuniga was contacted by officers and cited and arrested by Lincoln Police on outstanding warrants.

He told Animal Control that in June, when the video was taken, he and a friend saw the dog walking down the street and brought it into their car.

Later, they decided they no longer wanted to dog, so they dropped it over a fence in the area of 90th and Adams.

Animal Control said the reason for the citation was the danger of dropping the dog over the fence, as well as not leaving the dog with any necessities, such as food or water.

The family whose yard the dog was dropped in, found the dog a short time later and called Animal Control.

The dog was brought to the Capital Humane Society and has been adopted.
