Lincoln City Council denies liquor license recommendation for Tomahawks
The Lincoln City Council has voted against recommending a liquor license for an axe throwing business trying to open in Lincoln.
Tomahawks plans to open at 815 O Street.
City council members voted 4 to 2 Monday night to recommend the liquor control commission deny a liquor license to the business.
Council members said it's because of the owners' criminal convictions.
Tomahawks is owned by Shad and Shane Kearns. They had prior convictions that weren't disclosed on the application.
Council also recommended an additional restriction for Tomahawks. That is no liquor law violations for a year, both as a business and individually.
Now, this can be removed by the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. The commission will now take up the issue.
