Police investigating burglary spree in the Belmont neighborhood

LINCOLN, Neb. (Press Release) -- Police are investigating a burglary spree in northwest Lincoln's Belmont neighborhood on Tuesday night.

Lincoln Police Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 3400 block of Portia Street at approximately 9:30 PM.

The victim reported a brick thrown through a bedroom window and several items were taken from within the bedroom.

While investigating and during a subsequent canvass, officers located 5 other nearby residences which had property damage and some had been by entered the suspect, or suspects, as well.

In at least one of the cases, it's believed the suspect(s) searched through a bedroom while the residents were home but unaware.

Officers processed the scene and canvassed the neighborhood further but no suspects have been located.
