Lincoln couple travels the state
Joe and Nancy Vaverka caught the traveling bug as they took their mothers around southeast Nebraska for weekend rides.
After their moms passed away, both Joe and Nancy decided to keep up their weekend traveling tradition.
This Lincoln couple has racked up more than 14,000 miles traveling all across the Cornhusker State over the past three years.
Joe's wife Nancy has joined her husband for each and every one of the past 57 weekend jaunts. Joe says, "I go after not only the towns that are on a regular map, but the wife and I go after ghost towns...towns that are history."
This 1968 graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School loves the Capital City... but he also loves the rest of the state as well.
Joe and Nancy are far from being done with their scenic adventures, they say they won't stop traveling until they've visited all 770 destinations that Joe has charted.
