Lincoln man charged with sexual assault of a minor

LINCOLN, Neb. – Police arrested a Lincoln man for sexual assault of a minor after he brought a female under the age of consent to a hotel to engage in sexual activity.

According to court documents, LPD contacted the victim on April 30 near 33rd and O streets looking confused.

The documents state the victim told police she met a man, later identified as Oniiel Ngang Waki, online, and he arranged for a ride-share service to take her from Omaha to Lincoln.

The two met at a Wal-Mart parking lot, documents show, and Waki provided alcohol for the victim and took her to a hotel near 27th and O streets.

The two then engaged in sexual activity, the documents state.

The victim said she then parted ways with Waki and ended up without a ride home.

The probable cause affidavit states through a hotel room registration form, police were able to identify Waki, who admitted the events took place but said he believed the victim was 19-years-old.

He was arrested on May 14 and charged with first-degree sexual assault of a minor.
