Lincoln woman killed in crash on Kansas highway

KANSAS CITY – A 79-year-old Lincoln woman was killed in a crash on the side of a Kansas highway Tuesday morning.

Annabelle Kovar, 79, of Lincoln, was killed during the crash which occurred on I-435 near Kansas City.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the 2006 Volvo Kovar was riding in was involved in a single-vehicle crash around 10:30 a.m.

A tow truck and police were on scene and attempting to get passengers out of the vehicle on the passenger side when a 2002 Pontiac lost control, and struck the Volvo.

Kovar was exiting the Volvo when it was struck by the Pontiac.

She was pronounced dead on scene.

Two other Lincoln residents were traveling in the vehicle with Kovar. They sustained minor injuries in the crash.
