LINCOLN, Neb. – Lincoln Police arrested a 34-year-old man after a rock or cinder block was thrown through the front window of a Papa John’s on Wednesday, and a man was seen outside holding a sign saying "give me everything you have in the register."

LPD said around 7:15 p.m., officers responded to the Papa John’s at 621 North 48th Street on a report of a robbery.

When officers arrived, they talked to employees who said an individual had thrown a rock or cinder block against the front window of the business.

The suspect then held up a sign that read “give me everything in the register.”

Police said the individual was unarmed and was holding a pair of drumsticks.

The employees did not give the suspect any money, police said, and the individual was positively identified by the victims.

When police contacted the suspect he told them “messed up” and was trying to “get a rise out of them.

Joseph Peterson, 34, was arrested for attempted robbery and criminal mischief.
