Man arrested with backpack full of drugs in Lincoln Zoo parking lot

LINCOLN (KOLN) A Lincoln man was arrested by police after leading officers on a brief foot chase Thursday night near the Lincoln Children's Zoo.

According to Lincoln Police, Dustin Kann, 25, had outstanding arrest warrants when officers were trying to locate him near South 28th and A Streets.

LPD said Kann was located in the parking lot of the zoo near where officers gave him commands to stop and get on the ground.

Kann ditched the backpack and ran off before being taken into custody, police said.

Officers who searched Kann's bag found several drugs, including more than nine grams of suspected methamphetamine and 55 grams of suspected marijuana. The search also yielded smalls amounts of THC wax, five grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, Alprazolam pills and drug paraphernalia.

of Multiple phones and more than $650 in cash were also discovered.

Kann was booked into the Lancaster County Jail and charged with three counts of possession with intent to deliver, possession of money while possession with intent to deliver and obstructing a police officer.
