Man asked to leave UNK weekend event after shouting at performers

KEARNEY, Neb. -- Campus police were called to the Chinese Spring Festival event Saturday at UNK, after reports of a man causing a scene.

University officials confirmed to Local4 that police did report to the event after an incident took place, but that no citations or tickets were issued and no arrests were made.

Attendees of the event said an elderly man approached the performing stage while the event was going on and started shouting at the performers. Due to loud music and the overall atmosphere, officials say it was hard to make out what the man had been shouting.

That's when event organizers stepped in and asked the man to leave the event, which he did on his own accord. Due to no citations or arrests being made, there is not an ongoing investigation into the incident, and it is considered closed.
