Man wanted in connection to Lincoln shooting arrested in Illinois

LINCOLN, Neb. – A man was arrested in Illinois in connection to a shooting in Lincoln in February.

LPD said Ryan Taylor, 29, was taken into custody in East Saint Louis, IL without incident on November 29.

His arrest warrant was for first-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony in connection to a shooting on Feb. 8.

This is the second arrest made in the case, as 27-year-old Desmond Pruitt was also taken into custody in East Saint Louis on May 16.

On Feb. 8, shortly before 8:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots at 3041 N 48th Street.

A victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Lincoln Police said a group of people were inside a home at 3041 N 48th Street shooting dice when the crime took place.

At least two K9 teams were called in to track down the suspects while officers searched the area.

The incident happened not far from the Nebraska Wesleyan campus, prompting a brief lockdown at that time.
