Police: Man's birth certificate stolen in downtown robbery

LINCOLN, Neb. — Police said a man's birth certificate was stolen after an unknown man approached him and demanded everything he had.

Capt. Kocian with Lincoln Police said the suspect, who is described as a black man in his 30s, about 5-feet, 6 inches tall, and about 150-160 pounds, took the victim's birth certificate and ran off.

The robbery happened at about 2 p.m. Friday near 9th and O streets.

Police said the suspect did not show a weapon, but had his hand in his waist to make it look like he did.

Nobody was injured.
