Victim in fatal rollover identified
The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office confirms a man has died after a single vehicle rollover.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Francisco Gonzalez.
Lancaster County deputies along with Hickman Rural Fire responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in the west ditch in the 20000 block of south 68th between Stagecoach Road and Panama Road.
According to the sheriff's office, shortly before midnight, a car was northbound on 68th, north of Panama Road. The vehicle dropped two wheels off the shoulder and over corrected. The car then spun, went off the road and hit a tree. The vehicle then caught fire.
A neighbor saw the fire and called 911.
The driver was still in the vehicle when first responders arrived on scene. He died at the scene.
The crash is being investigated by the Lancaster County Crash Reconstruction team.
The sheriff's office said in a release that it is unknown at this time if safety restraints were in use, though speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
