LPD arrests teen in connection to string of vandalisms that caused 25K in damage

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- Lincoln Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection to a string of vandalism that caused over $25,000 in damage last week.

Lincoln Police said the total number of vandalisms reported on June 4-5 reached 62.

On Wednesday, LPD arrested Cody Slama, 18, in connection to the crimes.

Police identified him as a suspect through surveillance footage, and a bat and a golf club were found in his car.

LPD said a number of the vehicles vandalized were hit by a baseball bat or golf club.

The areas targeted stretched from 35th and Apple to 61st and Vine to 44th and Adams, but extends east near 70th and Holdrege.

More arrests are expected, police said.
