LINCOLN, NE Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows motorcycle accidents are more likely to result in a fatality than crashes involving other vehicles.

Starting in the month of May, the Nebraska Safety Council will work to educate the public to help reduce these accidents.

The campaign will run through the month of October. Safety classes are being offered to motorcyclists on the weekends and billboards and signage will be up along roads to help educate drivers.

May is also National Motorcycle Safety Awareness month.
