Nebraska lawmakers take notice of millennial generation
Nebraska legislators under the age of 40 have come together with a new goal for the 2017 legislative session — work on policy aimed at millennials.
This group of 11 Nebraska lawmakers launched "Next Generation Nebraska" on Friday, joining the Millennial Action Project's national movement to work with people in the millennial age range.
Nebraska is the 15th state to join the movement, and there is already a plan in motion
“To begin the process of going across the state and talking with young Nebraskans, and asking them what are some of the policy issues that will recruit and retain some of our young Nebraskans,” Senator Adam Morefeld said.
Morfeld, one of the co-chairs of the legislation, said the lawmakers planned to meet with 15 Nebraska millennials on Friday, and use their opinions to put together policies, which hopefully lead to action by the end of the legislative term.
