One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash that took place near SW 98th Street and West Van Dorn around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, a westbound 2000 Subaru driven by 55-year-old Jeffrey Vanlent of rural Denton, Nebraska, had lost control on the gravel road and slid into the south ditch.

After entering the ditch, Vanlent's Subaru struck a power pole and rolled. Vanlent was partially ejected from the vehicle

StarCare pronounced him dead on the scene. No one else was in the vehicle.

LSO said Vanlent was not wearing a seatbelt, and there was evidence of alcohol use at the time of the crash.
