Pedestrian slips on road, run over and killed in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. — A witness told Omaha Police that a man slipped and fell into the roadway Friday night while using a cane. Three vehicles then struck him but none of the drivers stopped. The man died at a hospital.

Police identified the victim as 64-year-old Julian A. Branker. The witness has not been identified. Police said the witness pulled over near the scene at 36th and Leavenworth just after 11:30 p.m. to help Branker who was still lying in the road.

The only description provided of any of the three vehicles involved was a dark red colored SUV.
