Police find handgun and controlled substance in Lincoln man's car

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - On Sunday Lincoln police arrested a man for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.

Shortly before 1 p.m. police came in contact with 31-year-old Jeremiah Severn and passenger Sarah Thulin seated in a vehicle at a hotel in Northwest Lincoln. Both initially denied any weapons or narcotics were in the vehicle. Severn eventually admitted he had a concealed firearm inside the console.

The officer found a 9mm handgun, two methamphetamine pipes and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. Severn was arrested and Thulin was cited for a prior theft case.
