Teen arrested for attempted robbery of 12-year-old

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police arrested a 15-year-old for an attempted robbery where he pointed a gun at a 12-year-old in the Highlands.

LPD said on November 4 around 3:15 p.m., the 12-year-old was walking home when a black vehicle drove by, pointed a gun at him, and demanded his shoes.

The victim did not respond and the vehicle drove away.

On Wednesday, a 15-year-old was taken into custody around 5:30 p.m.

He was contacted at home with his father, and admitted to being involved.

He was arrested and taken into custody at the Youth Detention Center for attempted robbery, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and possession of a stolen firearm.

The gun was determined to be stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Nov. 1.
