OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - One portion of the Mueller report has deep ties to the Omaha area.
The report says that WikiLeaks exploited theories about the murder of Omaha native, 27-year-old Seth Rich who was shot and killed on July 10, 2016, outside of his Washington, D.C., home.

Rich, a staffer at the Democratic National Committee, became part of a conspiracy theory that suggested he was the source of stolen emails published by WikiLeaks — and that his death was a cover-up.
The murder remains unsolved, but authorities say it was most likely a botched robbery.
The Mueller report details how Russian intelligence operatives hacked the DNC and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, then shared the stolen materials with WikiLeaks.
The chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party told 6 News the finding is a relief.
"We finally had an official government report that clearly said it was not Seth Rich that leaked the information from the DNC and that is was, in fact, it was a hack by WikiLeaks and Russia," Jane Kleeb said.
The section of the report titled "WikiLeaks Statements Dissembling About the Source of Stolen Materials" focuses on the Rich killing where the report cites specific statements Julian Assange and WikiLeaks made regarding the death and implying falsely that he had been the source of the stolen emails.
"It's a shame WikiLeaks continues to use the murder of Seth Rich as a chess piece in their game to continue to hack our elections," Kleeb said. "Seth had nothing to do with the leak to the DNC to WikiLeaks."
