LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - An upper level trough will move through the area Friday so there is a good chance of showers and maybe some isolated thunderstorms during the day. Rain could change to snow from north to south Friday night into Saturday morning. Rainfall totals of a quarter of an inch to half an inch are possible. Very light snowfall accumulation of a trace to 1" is possible in Central and Eastern Nebraska with 1 to 3" of snow possible in Western Nebraska.
Any precipitation Saturday should wrap up early in the morning with the rest of the weekend expected to be dry. Monday looks to be dry as well. There is a small chance of rain on Tuesday. A better chance for showers and thunderstorms arrives with a cold front late Wednesday into Thursday.
Below average temperatures expected through Sunday. Above average temperatures return for the first half of next week.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of a rain/snow mix or all snow early in the morning, then becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Highs int he low to mid 40s. North winds at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
