STANTON,-Neb. In a recent trip outside the community of Stanton, we discovered a unique place to relax and enjoy rural Nebraska. It's a business called "Red Road Herbs".
Owner Rachel Liester not only loves growing herbs, and making products with those herbs. But she enjoys teaching others how to do it, too. The other part of it is that Red Road Herbs is not just a place to learn about herbs. It's also a retreat and learning center, where people come from near and far to connect with nature.
Red Road Herbs is certainly an example of agri-tourism in Nebraska. Rachel is using her farm and acreage in a way that allows others to experience what rural Nebraska has to offer. The grounds feature more than 100 herbs in various gardens, along with wooded areas to sit and relax, and there's even a beautiful stream.
Rachel says she also teaches classes that allow for hand-son learning. The gardens are used as part of the learning experience for visitors. The business has several products on sale, including an all-natural salve made out of herb products that helps with skin issues. The business offeres individual and group tours.
