GERING, Neb. - (KNEP) - Santa’s Village in Gering showing the holiday spirit by moving their opening up a week and is excited to see the kids enjoy this year’s village.

With the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree coming through Scottsbluff, the two cities felt it was right to move their parades up a week to cater to the showing. A staple for Gering is the always fun Santa’s Village with its hot chocolate and candy.

RaNae Garton says there will be a couple of new additions to the village this year including a new building and a special entrance for Santa on November 23rd. Garton is beaming with the holiday joy and says she can’t wait to see what everyone thinks about the entrance.

The village will also allow kids a chance to send out their letters to Santa by dropping it in his mailbox. On December 1st from 10am to 1pm the Pony Express will deliver letters and Garton mentions the village will also see live reindeer that day as well.

“The community loves having this village and it’s a big draw for the City of Gering,” adds Garton.

Beginning this Saturday, the village will be open every Saturday until Christmas with a special Friday opening on November 23rd and December 21st.
