Semi catches fire near Giltner

LINCOLN, Neb. — A semi caught fire while traveling on Interstate 80 Saturday afternoon near Giltner.

Nebraska State Patrol Troop C tweeted pictures of the fire at about 3:30 p.m. along with the caption, "Trp Goltz is handling a semi fire westbound mm321 I80. Thank you Giltner Fire and Hamilton County Sheriffs Office."

It's still unclear what caused the fire.

NSP said the truck was full of frozen food.

The driver and passenger, as well as a dog and cat all escaped the truck to safety.
