LINCOLN, Neb. Thousands showed up for the annual "Streets Alive" event in Lincoln today.

The event is held all across the country and this year marks the sixth year that its been done in Lincoln.

"Streets Alive" promotes healthy living, wellness and good nutrition in the community.

Two miles of road were blocked off for the event that included over 100 vendors.

The day consisted of food, live music, games, yoga, fitness classes, biking and even a special appearance from the women's and men's Nebraska basketball teams.

Lincoln Lightning Roller Girls were one of the organizations taking full advantage of the event.

It's perhaps the only day that officials encouraged you to play in the street.
