Study: Millions still unaware of Equifax data breach

A new study finds millions of consumers are still unaware of that massive Equifax data breach.

According to a report released from, 61 million consumers checked their credit report soon after learning of the Equifax breach. But about 71 million are still unaware of the breach.

The study found younger millennials, those ages 18 to 26, are the most clueless about the incident with half of them unaware that a breach occurred.

Equifax has said the breach may have potentially affected more than 145 million American consumers.
