LINCOLN, Neb. – One person was arrested on outstanding warrants and another for drug possession after reportedly stealing items from a vehicle in Lincoln.

Lincoln Police said on Dec. 6 around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a home in the 2500 Block of Dudley Street on a report of a burglary.

However, when officers arrived, they realized it was actually a larceny from auto in progress, and contacted Alexander Hargrave, 27, and Robert Beckett, 48.

The two denied stealing any items but were identified by the victim as the suspects, and officers located the stolen property in the individual’s backpacks.

Officers cited Hargrave for theft and lodged him in jail on unrelated outstanding arrest warrants. Officers cited Beckett for theft, but also cited and lodged him in jail for possession of a controlled substance because they found suspected methamphetamine on him.
