Rent checks stolen from mobile home park

LINCOLN, Neb. – Lincoln Police say two people who are stealing rent checks from different housing complexes struck again on Thursday.

LPD said they took a report of a rent check thefts from Contempo Mobile Home Park, located at 3601 N 1st Street on Thursday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.

Police said multiple checks were taken out of a mailbox.

This comes after the duo reportedly hit four apartment complexes on Saturday.

LPD said the burglaries took place at the Cheever Apartment complex, located at 2360 N 44th Street, Sunridge Apartments at 8311 Sunridge Road, College Park at 120 College Park Circle, and Chateau Clubhouse at 1025 N 63rd Street.

According to police, the pair stole rent checks from all four locations sometime between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The crimes were captured on surveillance.

Police said a device was used to fish out the checks from the money order boxes on the properties.

Police said there could be a total of up to 60 victims.
