LINCOLN, Neb. - A 17-year-old was cited by police after driving with paper taped over his license plate and switching seats with the passenger after being pulled over.

An LPD sergeant pulled over a 1999 Blue Nissan Maxima near 21st and K streets on Monday night around 9:40 p.m.

Police said the vehicle had paper taped over the license plate, and after being pulled over, the driver and passenger switched seats.

When the sergeant approached, the original driver also dropped a debit card on the floor that did not match the name of either occupant of the car.

The 17-year-old who was driving the car was cited for driving under suspension and driving with obscure license plates.

The 18-year-old passenger has not yet been charged.
