Three arrested for possession of drugs, paraphernalia

Three people were arrested after law enforcement served a search warrant at a home in Fairbury, Tuesday.

At about 7:20 a.m., deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and officers of the Fairbury Police Department served a search warrant at 1101 J Street in Fairbury.

The search warrant was initiated by an ongoing joint investigation with the sheriff’s office and police department.

As officers arrived, a man ran from the back of the residence, leading to a short foot chase, the sheriff's department said.

During the chase, officials say the man threw items that were later recovered and determined to be a sizable quantity of suspected methamphetamines.

Officers were quickly able to apprehend the man, Douglas W. May Jr.

May Jr., 31, of Fairbury, was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to distribute, Enhanced Classification within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz. Obstructing a Peace Officer.

Two women were also taken into custody without incident, the sheriff's department said.

Kristin Vanwesten, 27, of Alexandria, Nebraska, was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to distribute, Enhanced Classification within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz.

Isabella A. Kenley, 20, of Fairbury, was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance with intent to distribute, Enhanced Classification within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana less than 1oz.

The investigation is ongoing.
