Two dumpsters catch fire in Scottsbluff

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) One dumpster caught fire between Ave B and C. Shortly after that another dumpster was reportedly on fire in an alley near Ave N off 16th.

At around 1pm Scottsbluff fire department, Gering Rural Fire Department and Scottsbluff Police responded to the fire at Ave B and 22nd. Not only was the dumpster on fire, but a shed and fence near the blaze also caught.

As the flames were smothered on that location, another was reported near Westmoor Elementary School.

At this time officials have not stated whether they thought this was arson, or whether the two alleyway fires were related.

The fire near 22nd Street is still under investigation, and a damage assessment has not been completed.

The fire near Ave "N" was caused by hot ashes from a fire place.

The fires were not related, and neither is believed to have been arson.
