The planning for the University of Nebraska's 150th birthday celebration has been going on for months and Andy Park is one of the show's creative director who can't wait to get the show on the road, "It was a lot of collaboration across the university, I mean this is a huge deal, you only turn a hundred and fifty once. I like to call it a spectacle actually because we have a cast of over 300, all of the UNL choruses are performing, the university's orchestra will be performing. We have a Golden Globe award winning actress Marg Helgenberger, will be bringing the words of Willa Cather to life."
This journey through the history of Nebraska will feature Dick Cavett, Ted Kooser, opera singers, dancers and the Cornhusker Marching Band will also be making an appearance.
Chuck O'Connor is the dean of the Hixon-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts and he says, "This is an event that really can't be missed. It's going to feature our students and our alumni and our faculty it's going to be a great evening."
The Charter Day celebration is set to begin at 7:30 on February 15th at the Lied Center. Tickets for this very special Big Red event are currently on sale at the Lied Center box office. https://www.liedcenter.org/events-page
