Man arrested at WWE event currently out on bond in Nebraska

We are learning new information about the Nebraska man who was arrested in New York for attacking a WWE Hall of Famer.

NYPD said that 26-year-old Zachary Madsen, of Lincoln, punched 61-year old WWE star Bret "The Hitman" Hart before being subdued by civilians. Hart suffered only minor injuries due to the incident.

This happened Saturday while Hart was giving his Hall of Fame introduction speech.

Madsen is facing two counts of assault, one count of trespassing, and one count of violation of local law in New York for this altercation.

And in Lincoln, he is currently out on bond in several cases.

Madsen has three ongoing cases: one from 2018 and two from 2019. He faces charges including stalking and violating a protection order.

The victim in all three cases is person who trained at the same MMA facility as Madsen.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim contacted Lincoln Police about several incidents involving Madsen. The victim began to train elsewhere, but then Madsen started posting threatening messages on social media. The complaint goes on to say the victim was granted a protection order, which Madsen violated.

Madsen has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.

He is scheduled to be back in court in Lincoln next Wednesday, but is currently in jail in New York.
