A brutally cold and seemingly endless winter may be giving you cabin fever and you're probably not alone. Many Nebraskans are looking to travel to where it's warmer and according to local travel agents, there is a lot more people looking to get out of town right now.

Executive Travel in Lincoln says the bad weather, is good business.

"I feel like we do have a lot more people who do walk in, just because they see us and they say they want to book a vacation right now," said Monti Lamberty, who works at Executive Travel.

Brian Wallingford is the marketing director for the company, he says this winter has been huge for sales, with a 30 percent increase over last winter.

"Snowy days, freezing rain, anytime that there is a cancellation in school or businesses we see a tremendous uptick in call-ins," said Wallingford.

Some of the most popular destinations for those trying to get out of winter weather in Nebraska are Mexican beach locations and with more cold on the horizon people in Lincoln say the winter has already taken a toll and vacations are on the brain.

"It feels like winter has been a year long, instead of just like five months and I'm honestly ready for the sun and for the snow to go away," said Alexandra Benson.

Executive Travel says the next holiday they are gearing up for, spring break. Lincoln Public Schools' last day of school before spring break is two weeks from Friday.
